Toddler & Primary Re-enrollment Program Interest Survey At this time of year, we begin to prepare student re-enrollment contracts for the upcoming school year. Please take a minute to complete your family’s desired program choice for the upcoming school year here. Thank you!

Applications for Siblings We have begun to receive new student admissions applications for the upcoming September 2021 school year. As you may know, some programs/classes have limited availability each year depending on the number of students returning back from the previous school year that are not yet eligible age-wise to move up to the next program level. If you are interested in pursuing a space for a sibling of a current FWM student, please complete a sibling admissions application here. It is suggested that you complete this application as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact Alison Kistner.

Toddler Program Eligibility: Children: 15 months and older September 2021
Primary Program Eligibility: Children: 3-6 years of age by December 31, 2021

No School-Monday, January 18th Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Standardized test from ERB – the CTP5 (Comprehension Testing Program fifth edition) Lower Elementary-3rd Year to 8th-grade students participate annually. Standardized testing in a Montessori school is viewed as a Practical Life experience. We do not alter our curriculum nor do we conduct test preparation exercises. We understand that a standardized test is only a snapshot and recognize that there is so much more to a student’s learning experience than one test can measure.

Mark your calendars for this year’s testing dates:

  • Middle School Students: Tuesday, Jan. 19th-Friday, Jan. 22nd
  • Third-year and Upper Elementary Students: Tuesday, Feb. 9th, Wednesday, Feb. 10th, Tuesday, Feb. 16th, Wednesday, Feb. 17th

Please be sure students arrive at school on time.  They will have the opportunity for breaks and snacks throughout the morning. Please note that testing ends at different times each morning but typically ends between 10:30 and 11:00 am. The best way to prepare your child is to remind them to approach the testing just as they would approach any other work they do in the classroom, carefully and thoughtfully.  Please make sure they have a good breakfast each morning and get to bed early each night. If you have any questions, please contact Gina Tryforos.

Thursday, January 21st, Virtual Moving Up Information Night – 6:30 pm. The purpose of Moving Up Information Night is to present our approach to teaching at each level and to help you, as parents, feel comfortable as you preview materials and learn about your child’s next step at Fraser Woods Montessori School. The presentations are made by the teachers from the level your child will be moving up to and you will receive an email from the teacher along with a Zoom link for their presentation.

If you have a child in one of these classes: Toddler 2, Primary 4, Kindergarten, Lower Elementary 3rd, Upper Elementary 5th, you don’t want to miss this event. Join us and see what lies ahead for your child, and to understand more about the continuity of a FWM education.

Friday, January 22nd – 9:30 am. – Coffee & Chat with Gina. Whether you are interested in learning more about Montessori pedagogy, wanting to chat about your child’s experience in the classroom, moving up to the next program level, homework help, or another topic of interest, Gina would love for you to join her, virtually of course. Guest presenter to be announced. In order to be better prepared for our chat, we kindly ask that you submit your question(s) via the question form link here.
