At Fraser Woods Montessori we encourage EVERYONE (moms, dads, grandfriends, etc.) to actively participate in all aspects of the workings of our school. We believe the education of the whole child is a cooperative effort between families, teachers, and children.
Ways Your Family Can Become Involved:
- Attend parent education events;
- Act as your child’s class parent;
- Help with classroom projects and celebrations;
- Attend and help at Parents’ Association functions;
- Share your hobbies, talents, profession, or culture with your child’s class;
- Plan and execute special events;
- Attend parent-teacher conferences; and
- Fundraise.
Family volunteers are integral to the operation of FWM. Your child will love seeing you help their school, and it is also a great way to meet fellow community members. Working together, we will ensure Fraser Woods Montessori remains a warm and supportive educational community.

Events
The school hosts a variety of Family Events during the year including our larger events, Oktoberfest and the End of Year Celebration, for families to enjoy games and entertainment and socialize with one another, while getting to know their child’s friends. The school also hosts events for just parents, Parent Socials and the Annual Auction Gala, where parents can mingle in the company of adults.
Parent education and community involvement are an essential part of FWM. When parents don’t fully understand the Montessori method, communication between school and home is hampered. FWM hosts several opportunities to better understand the Montessori education their children are experiencing such as, Curriculum Night, Parent Child Night, and Topic Based Educational Discussions. Additional, FWM will host discussion panels and visiting speakers on educational topics.
